I designed this presentation to introduce future educators enrolled in an Educator Preparation Program to Alternative Certification, the necessary components of these programs are discussed; including candidate selection, standards and accountability, evaluation, and the role of candidates and mentors. Additionally, the presentation serves as an informational tool for program administrators and other stakeholders.

  • My Role: Professional development leader, teacher educator, and content author.
  • Objective: Increase Educator Preparation Program administration and candidates' understanding of Alternative Certification Programs.
  • Processes Used: Adult learning theory, Concept introduction, Whole group instruction.
