This hands-on laboratory activity is an engaging way to teach high school biology students about the structure and function of animal cells; when the lab is done, students can eat their cells!

  • My Role: Lesson author, teacher, spare jelly bean consumer.
  • Objective: Promote students' content understanding.
  • Processes Used: Guided laboratory instruction, independent practice, constructivist learning, concept modelling.
